Artwork Care

Every artwork is created with meticulous attention to detail and made to be enjoyed for years to come. A little consideration in how you display, handle and care for your piece will help preserve its original finish and appearance.

Always handle artwork with clean, dry hands.

Works on Paper - Open Frame

Works on paper are delicate by nature, particularly when displayed without glass or acrylic glazing. To keep your artwork looking its best, I recommend the following:

  • Display: Keep your artwork away from direct sunlight, excessive humidity and sources of heat. Avoid areas where moisture, steam or significant temperature fluctuations may occur.

  • Handling: Always handle the frame rather than the artwork itself. Avoid touching the paper or painted surface, as natural oils from the skin can leave permanent marks.

  • Cleaning: Gently remove any accumulated dust using a clean, dry, soft-bristled makeup brush or paintbrush. Use light, delicate strokes without applying pressure to the surface. Avoid using cloths, water, cleaning products or solvents, as these may damage the artwork's intricate details and finish.

  • Positioning: Display in a location where the artwork is unlikely to be brushed against, splashed or accidentally touched.

As these works are intentionally presented without protective glazing, a little extra care will help preserve their delicate surfaces and intricate details. It is natural that artworks will evolve and change over time.

Resin on Wood - Open Frame

Resin creates a beautifully dimensional surface, with subtle variations in texture, depth and reflection. Although cured resin is durable, its finish should still be treated with care.

  • Display: Avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight, excessive heat and humidity. Resin can discolour over time with UV exposure, while significant temperature changes may affect the materials beneath.

  • Handling: Always lift and support the artwork by its wooden structure, avoiding pressure on the resin elements. Never lift a piece by its raised details.

  • Protection: Keep sharp objects away from the surface to prevent scratching, chipping or other accidental damage.

Each resin element is individually applied by hand. Taking a little care when handling and cleaning your artwork will help preserve the detail and finish that make it unique.
